Eyob was born on September 30, 2003, in Los Angeles, California. He was raised in the Santa Clarita Valley where he attended Santa Clarita Elementary School and Castaic Middle School during his school age years.
Eyob was an extraordinary student with a lovable and friendly personality. Outside of school, Eyob was an active member in the church. He was baptized and raised in his religion, and strengthened his faith through singing in the choir, playing the kebero (drum), and attending church groups above his age level. He would come to church in his sharpest suit, with his infectious smile and excitement to help others around him. Eyob is the first one to welcome new neighbors and the first one to run out and help others that are in need of help. He always exemplifies his humbleness and helpfulness around the church and in his neighborhood.
Throughout his life, Eyob was heavily involved in sports through his community and school teams. Growing up, he played soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. At high school level, he was part of the West Ranch Football team as well as the track and cross-country team. His drive to be his best always shined through, and he will always be remembered as a team player with love for sports. Growing up Eyob had love for family and celebrations. He thought of everyone as family and treated them as such.
Although he was not related to many of his friends in the Ethiopian community, he saw them as his brothers and sisters, and they saw him as their little brother. Eyob was in the process of receiving acceptance letters from colleges across the country. He was always eager to grow up and go to college, as he had an incredibly bright future ahead of him.
With one semester left in his senior year at West Ranch High School, Eyob passed away at age 17 from a heart condition known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He left his Earth doing what he loved the most: playing basketball with his friends in his backyard.
